I know it's a convention to reply to comments before writing a new post but not managing to do so is merely one of many conventions I can't keep up with. Fortunately, my heart beats of its own accord and my lungs supply sufficient oxygen without prompt. If I had to operate them consciously I doubt I'd keep to the convention of living. In scientific mode, I wonder whether I could invent a thought-to-page reply system (along with furniture that levitates while carpets are cleaned and gently lowers itself back into place once they are dried and aired).
I'm not meant to be posting until the autumn - but keeping to my word is one of the conventions I'm specially good at not keeping to and I woke in the night with the word 'collusion' in my head. It's a good sound, isn't it? And it's Wednesday today. And as there's a convention on this blog that I say a good-sounding word on Wednesdays I'll keep to that and say
Collusion
There! Done it!

P.S.
It's raining again. Oh, what a surprise!
Secretly, I'm relieved. It looks as if the Olympic event tomorrow evening which we aren't going to because I forgot to apply for tickets will be rained on so thoroughly my family will thank me for my foresight instead of wondering why they trust me to organise anything.
P.P.S. I never know when words are supposed to have 's's and when 'z's in them so I nearly always put 's's, whatever the spell-check underlining says. It's a kind of independent protest against 'z's. I don't like 'v's either.
P.P.P.S. If ever you think my posts are a little odd, you should try Pearl's blog. Pearl churns out nonsense so fast she posts daily - and every day millions of readers read it. Maybe 'millions' is a slight over estimate but I doubt it's far off.
P.P.P.P.S. Don't tell Pearl I'm recommending her blog. She's short of cash and trying to sell blinking as a means of light eradication. If she catches you there, she'll be sending out bills - a dollar per wink. Don't say you haven't been warned.

Too funny, Esther! I prefer the unconventional as well. Again, I don't see how all this fits in with your boring garden blog. Heading off to check out Pearl . . .

Hi, Bom. I describe my blog thus -
"Thoughts about my garden and thoughts thunk in it."
'Thunk' wasn't a word till I thought of it but it frees me to write more varied content than would be relevant in a more conventional gardening blog.
Glad you are visiting!
Collusion. Now that's a slippery word. Bet you And Pearl are in on that blinking scam.
lol! loved your breezy style of writing!
Funny post Esther, made me laugh this morning! Sometimes it's more fun not to stick with conventions, every so often anyway. And Collusion, what a word! :)
Always fun stopping by Esther...collusion...hmmm...have you been watching my work place....we should have all bet that once the Olympics were slated for London, the weather would be horrid.
thanks for sharing.
